Named ideo it will be proposed on May 25

Bouygues Telecom decided to strike a big blow in the hope of pushing the market of telecommunications and the Internet. The third operator, which quietly launched its Bbox last fall, wants to marry commercially mobile and Internet, two previously separated universes. He unveiled yesterday an offer all-in-one, which will combine the three usual services of the ADSL (fixed telephony, Internet and television) box with a package of mobile telephony. Named "ideo", it will be proposed on May 25. It is the first offer launched on the French market that is truly "quadruple play" and also "triple play", as the specialists say. Because if Orange, SFR, or, to a lesser extent, Numericable have the fixed and mobile, they have not yet pushed convergence point propose the two in a single package.

Once again, Bouygues Telecom seeks to stand out from the competition. Come after SFR and Orange in the mobile, the subsidiary of the Group of MGB had very quickly attacked market by inventing the principle of the package in 1996. Ten years later, the challenger had successfully launched its unlimited mobile plans Neo. Today, with its offers all in one, Bouygues Telecom hopes to create a new rupture: "We have not choice but to innovate, if we want to distinguish us from the large mastodons and attract new customers," explains Frédéric Ruciak, Deputy Director General in charge of marketing and communication.

Substantial economy

Of the new offer is first and foremost to its price. Subject to a two year commitment, Bouygues Telecom offers a mobile package of 2 hours and the Bbox (offering fixed telephony, TV and Internet access) for 45 euros per month.

Taken separately, these two offers are generally around 60 euros. It is therefore a substantial saving that can be the client. In the end, "the customer can earn up to 384 euros per year on its annual budget," calculates the operator, based on rates in a competitor. IDEO also includes unlimited packages ranging from 56 euros to 76 euros per month.

In these times where the French are more attentive to the expense, Ideo has therefore arguments. A recent study by Bain & Company indicated that a French on two intended to reduce telecommunications bill in the coming months.

With Ideo, the operator has of course retain its 9,74 million mobile customers, but seeks to gain new customers in a mature market. "It is clearly a conquest that we will push as much as Neo, adds Frédéric Ruciak." Approximately 45 of households have a box and at least a mobile package. "For Bouygues Telecom, the idea is also to be more offensive in ADSL. Because, since its launch in October, the Bbox rather was discrete, primarily targeting the mobile clients of the operator.

Earlier in the month of March, Martin Bouygues had indicated that it had "a few tens of thousands of customers", calling the figure "good but modest." According to market sources, the Bbox have conquered that between 10,000 and 15,000 customers in the first quarter of 2009. So that the offensive Ideo timely.
